I choose this lesson plan because it focused on the
visual illustrations from the book “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats. This
book was giving the Caldecott Award for its illustrations. Students asked
questions about the illustrations of the book and, why they felt it was award
winning? The students were then able to use critical thinking on their art
projects to honor the illustrations in the book.
