I choose this lesson plan because colors and shapes are two very noticeable attributes of the world around us. Everything around us has its own color and shape. When you look out your window, you will see the leaves that are green or brown depending on the time of year, red buildings that are rectangular shaped, blue skies, windows that are square or rectangular shape, and people dressed in different colors. Colors and shapes are characteristics that we should teach children, so they will be able to organize and characterize their world around them. Shapes are symbols that children should recognize at an early age. The early recognition of different shapes helps children with the recognition of other symbols such as letters. Using music as a tool to teach color and shapes, will help the children develop coordination of large and small muscles, listening skills, language, and social interact with other children while having fun,
