The first article by Dr. Bob Kizlik speaks
about the importance of writing a lesson plan and the format of the plan. The
article was informative and encouraged teachers to own the content, methodology
and evaluation process of the lesson that they will teach to their students. A lesson plan helps the teacher clarifies in her/his mind what is to be taught
and how it is to be taught to the diverse group of students in the class. This is especially true for a new and inexperience
teacher. A well thought out lesson plan is guide and communicate clearly to the
teacher and others what will be done during the lesson. It should be noted that
a well written lesson plan does not necessarily make students learn but goes a far
way in the teaching/ learning process.
The second article by Melissa Gersdorf demonstrates what the first
article encouraged teachers to do, that is having a well planned lesson plan. The
aims and objectives of the lesson were clearly stated. The time allotted,
content, methods /activity, evaluation and recommended material and resources were
appropriate for the student’s age and development levels. I thought this was a very good example of a
lesson plan. I would have loved to observe the lesson.
